For His Glory

Today, March 27 I had my 6 month follow-up ultrasound to look at my questionable nodule that was found two years ago on my thyroid. It is growing and the doctor is becoming more concerned and has not changed his recommendation of having surgery. They were unable to tell from my biopsy two years ago if it is cancer so surgery is the only medical answer according to my doctor. Only 20% of these type of nodules are cancer. So here we are at this place ….decision to have surgery or not.

I am going to talk to my naturopathic doctor and see what else I need to be doing. My diet is going to become even more strict and I am going to depend upon the Lord to help me to be even more disciplined in that area.

No one wants to have surgery but that is not my main concern. Since my oldest sister had thyroid cancer and has been on thyroid hormone she has never been the same. I could give you a list of things that are a result of not having a thyroid. Medication is never an equal replacement for a body part ~ even though doctors say it is. I simply don’t want to remove something out of me if it’s not cancer and since most nodules are benign I personally don’t want to have the surgery.

So for now we are choosing for me to not have surgery. I don’t want to make an unwise decision based upon feelings. We are going to continue to seek the Lord and His direction in this.

God has brought healing to all the other problems I was having with my thyroid and I am asking for healing concerning this.

I am thankful to have gone into this appointment knowing that whatever God had for me today would be the very best for me because it would be what would bring Him the most glory. So leaving the nodule and allowing it to grow is best. Nothing really changed for me today because I know that He never changes. Just as I was to depend upon Him yesterday for everything ~ that same grace to depend is there for me today.

He makes All things beautiful in His time.

The following link is a test I will be doing soon. It has been a very accurate test for cancer

Thank you all who are praying for us. We do not take that for granted and we thank you so much. It truly is an expression of love to lift each other up in prayer to our Lord. Thank You!

  1. Kim, you are so right about prayer. And He tells us to bear each other’s burdens — which means pray for each other … and help in other ways when we can. You and Bill are definitely in my prayers, along with your sweet mom and dad. Thanks for your faithfulness and your great love for and faith in our Father. You are an encouragement and a blessing! Love you!

  2. Kim,

It is glorious to see God’s grace as he continues to grow your faith. It is not by might nor by power but by His spirit. Faith does not look at what is seen but by what is unseen. Yes we must look at circumstances in our life and deal with the reality of them. However, as a child of God you are choosing to no longer live according to the world’s system and mindset but walk according to the Kingdom of Heaven. Satan is trying to come to steal, kill, and destroy all that brings God glory. You have continued to praise the Lord through this and the trying of your faith is working patience. I read today in Psalm 27 that God rescues us so that we might know His goodness. No weapon being formed against you shall prosper. Every tongue(and we know that Satan is the accuser of the brethren) that rises up against you in judgment shall you prove to be in the wrong for this is the inheritance of the saints. He is desperately trying to destroy your steadfast faith in God’s goodness and truth!

Thank you so much for continuing to be a strong witness of God’s light and salvation. Whom and what shall you fear?

  3. Kim, these are not my words to you, but God’s. From His Word to your heart.
“Do not be afraid, only believe.” “…all things are possible to him who believes.” “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
…for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there.’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” “And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” “Most assuredly I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.” “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.”
Now Bob and I are agreeing with you that this will not be cancerous. Believe in your heart and say it with your mouth. Proverbs 18:21 tells us that death and life are in the power of the tongue. Use your words and God’s Word to speak life into your body. Love you. Paughnee

  4. Kim, your faithfulness is a blessing within itself. I know you are in touch with our Lord and trust you to follow his judgment in this case. Could they just open you up and take a biopsy to see if it was cancer and then close you up if it is not? I will be praying for you and your family. Love you girl.

    • I’m not sure who this is from ~ it says it’s from me ~ hmmmm
They did a biopsy two years ago and the results are what they call A~ typical. Which means the tissue is questionable and they can’t determine if it’s cancer or not. The only way for them to know 100% is to remove 1/2 of the thyroid and send it to pathology.

  5. My son had thyroid cancer at age 15..He has been on medicine since..it isnt the same as a thyroid for sure..he now has cholesterol problems at age 33..I am praying for you..

    • Thank you Jackie ~ I am thankful to have a naturopathic dr who has offered alternative care other than surgery and drugs. I’m so sorry about your son having those issues.
